Thirty-four Year 13 students went back to basics on the First Aid/Survival Camp this week. Taking only what was required to survive, 3OED students cooked on fires, crafted their own spoons and slept under the stars in the Hunua Ranges while attending a 2-day outdoor first aid course.
It is calming to know that my students now have the skills to build a Bush Stretcher and deal with most first aid scenarios that could occur in the great outdoors. Sometimes it is good to remember what is important in life when we strip away our luxuries and distractions.
